Surrounded by a treasure trove of musical instruments, Gregory initially found his muse in the world of fine art during his formative years. However, it wasn’t long before the siren call of music beckoned him towards another artistic realm.

In 1981, as he embarked on the adventure of marriage, Gregory Dean’s life took a beautiful turn. The following year, the joy of fatherhood graced his world when his beloved wife, Tammy, gifted him a piano for his very first Father’s Day. The keys of that piano would soon become the palette for his emotions and experiences, painting a vivid musical canvas.

Life’s journey, though, can take unexpected and heartbreaking turns. In 2004, Gregory faced the unimaginable loss of his only child. The very next year, he was called to bid farewell to his father, the source of his earliest musical inspiration. In the wake of these profound losses, the piano stood silent and untouched for a decade. The haunting specter of playing music stirred painful memories, and it became the last thing on his mind.

But as time marched forward, so did the emotions buried within. Recently, like the steady flow of a river breaking free from its icy confines, lyrics and phrases began to pour forth onto paper. The piano, once a source of pain, was now a vessel for the expression of deep and profound emotions, an extension of his soul.

Music, Gregory believes, should always come from the heart, weaving together the threads of personal experiences and raw emotions to create a tapestry of sound that resonates with the listener. In every composition, there’s a story to be told, a narrative that speaks to the soul.

Take, for instance, his mesmerizing composition, “Each Time.” This melodic masterpiece encapsulates the heartfelt struggles of couples forcibly separated by life’s demands. Whether it’s the rigors of business travel, the noble service in the military, or any other reason that keeps loved ones apart, Gregory’s music captures the essence of yearning and longing. It’s a reflection of the universal human experience, where the heart aches in the absence of those we hold dear.
