I really like the Ella Fitzgerald version of the George Gershwin classic (1934). Everyone from Billie Holiday to Willie Nelson has recorded this song 😉
When I Fall in Love
Even though Doris Day was the first to record this song (1952), it is Nat King Cole’s version in 1956 that is most recognized 😉
My One and Only Love
This song originated in 1947, but didn’t catch on. The lyrics were rewritten and Sinatra recorded it in 1953. It has been performed by many of the greats… including Coltrane in 1963 and Sonny Rollins in 1964.
Don’t Want to Miss a Thing
Power ballad originally performed by Aerosmith for the 1998 film Armageddon.
Beauty and the Beast
Written by lyricist Howard Ashman and composer Alan Menken for the Disney animated feature film Beauty and the Beast (1991)
Right Here Waiting
Originally released in June 1989. Written by Richard Marx. I used Apple LogicPro X to record the various tracks (piano, …). The melody line on the tenor sax–as seen in the video–was played over the previously recorded accompaniment tracks. Still a great and recognizable ballad 😉
Each Time
I was looking to compose an emotional melodic piece that would represent the heartfelt struggles of couples forced to spend time apart. Whether traveling on business, serving in the military or other reasons, we sometimes find ourselves alone–missing the ones we love. The Lady is a Tramp
All aboard the nostalgia express… going back to 1937 (Babes in Arms – Rodgers and Hart). Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and many others performed this song
Rainy Night in Georgia
Written by Tony Joe White in 1967. Ray Charles among others made it popular all the way into the 1980s. Brook Benton’s version was nominated for a “Best Male Pop Vocal Performance” Grammy in 1970.
An Evening at The Hub
Had a great time playing a few songs with Lorale Mullins (singer) and Daniel Semensky (baritone sax)!
